Convert your old energy wasting 4 and 8 foot  T-12 (1 1/2") fluorescent bulbs to either T-8 or T-5 bulbs - the T-8 will pay for itself by cutting electricity usage up to 43%. 

For even greater savings, replace your floodlights with new compact fluorescent floodlights.  They cut your electricity usage by up to 80% and will usually last 10 times longer.  Just screw into the existing lamp socket and the payback in energy savings alone is often within several months.
